Parish Church of St. Jakob, Thal

The Church of St. James by the painter Ernst Fuchs was inaugurated on May 12, 1994. It is an extraordinary church building and itself a work of art that is reminiscent of Hundertwasser, but is not an imitation of his buildings. The former baptismal church of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the most famous son of Thaler, is a unique work of art made up of historical and contemporary elements. The parish church was originally a small cemetery chapel that had been dedicated to Saint Sebastian since 1618.
