The south-eastern end of the Werdersee, the Wehrstrasse, extends directly into the Neue Weser nature reserve. (outer boundary of the NSG in the south and east by Wehrstrasse and Wehrweg)

Strictly speaking, it is not the "end" of the Werdesees but the beginning: the water flows into the Werdersee right there, via the Werdersee inlet.

If the weather is fine, you can even see the cathedral towers in the distance. (from some places where the cathedral is not covered by trees)
You also have a beautiful view of the so-called "strawberry bridge".

      Note to cyclists:

This southeastern section of the Werdersee is also the most pleasant (easiest) way to go around the Werdersee: While it may be steep for some cyclists at the Erdbeerbrücke, it is here at the southeastern. Fortunately, the end just "wavy".

      Tip:
A short detour of approx. 300 m along the weir road to the north-east rewards you with a great view of a biotope lake in the nature reserve.
