        In 1970, the Millstone was inaugurated, two years after the Kalmthoutseheide had acquired the status of State Reserve. The Royal Society for Nature and Clean Cities campaigned here since 1910. The millstone is not from a grain mill, but an oil crushing mill. The old standard mill has already been dismantled at the end of the 19th century. The stone has the motto "With nature as a guide impossible to get lost" (Cicero) chiseled.
