At the back 12 m, on the front imposante 37 m high Rabenfels is one of the most impressive rock towers of the Frankenalb. That the rock was already entered by people from the late Bronze Age (period from 2200-1200 BC), evidence of salvaged ceramic remains on the summit plateau. They are kept today together with a small piece of bone in the museum of the city of Regensburg. Apparently, the place has exerted on the people of that time as a kind of rock sanctuary a magical attraction.
Please note: The Rabenfels is during the breeding season of the peregrine falcons located in the period from 1 Feb.-1. Aug. closed to climbers and also passing hikers are asked to keep quiet. (Source: vgn.de)
