The Birkensee is not developed for tourism, but very popular with many Nuremberg residents. The quarry lake is located about 20 kilometers east of Nuremberg, between Schwaig and Diepersdorf (municipality of Leinburg).From the parking lot on the local road, you first have to take a 15-minute walk through the forest.
