Hiking
An underground lake, at about 700m above sea level on the west side of the Rötelstein. The lake owes its name to the reddish water, which flows down a gorge to Lake Traunsee.
Approach: From Karbach (water taxi from Traunkirchen or forest roads from the reversal point "Unterm Stein" or from Ebensee over the Spitzlsteinalm (Daxnersteig, sure-footedness required).
The cave can be reached via a steep and narrow path. Sure-footedness is essential, in wet conditions the climb should be avoided.
