Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
The Mittellandkanal (MLK) is a federal waterway  and 325.3 kilometers long, the longest artificial waterway in Germany. Including its spur and connecting channels, the length is 392 km. It connects the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal with Weser, Elbe and the Elbe-Havel-Kanal (Wikipedia).

Here, the Südaue flows through the Düker under the Mittellandkanel. At high water level not passable or muddy after heavy rain. On the side is in the unlit tunnel a narrow elevated footpath, which is almost always passable. From the canal you have a nice view towards Deister.
