Not only Timmendorfer Strand, but also the quieter Niendorf offers a lot of discoveries. The Niendorf fishing and yacht harbor is the most famous part of Niendorf. Here, rustic fishing boats meet modern yachts. Despite its small size, Niendorf harbor has two yacht clubs, a shipyard and a fishing fleet.
Above the harbor basin is the well-known Niendorf fish market, as well as craft stalls, small restaurants and cafés. The Niendorf harbor also has an extensive entertainment program to offer. Harbor festivals, concerts and events take place there every few weeks.

But Niendorf not only consists of the harbor and the kilometer-long, fine-grained sandy beach, but also of many other sights.
This also includes the beach promenade, which begins in Timmendorfer Strand. From there you have a sweeping view from the beach over the adjacent Baltic Sea shore to the Bay of Lübeck. From the promenade you not only have a good view of the Baltic Sea but also of the surrounding nature. Several sculptures and other works of art along the way can also be viewed on the beach promenade. There are small restaurants, bistros and shops on the promenade.

The almost 10 kilometer long promenade finds its eastern end at the Niendorfer Balcony. This modernly designed section of the promenade arches far beyond the beach and offers a generous view of the entire Bay of Lübeck, beach life and beautiful sunsets. The pier adjoins the Niendorf balcony. From the air, the architectural masterpiece closely resembles a turbot - with eyes, mouth and fins. But this bridge offers more than just its unusual shape. There is not only spacious seating, but also an information tour, a hydraulic bathing jetty and a children's playground over the sea.
