Princess Elisabeth von Bismarck founded the Butterfly Garden 31 years ago
in the historic greenhouses of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck.
These are located next to the 800-year-old Friedrichsruh Brewery.
Here, you can be enchanted by the tropical colors of free-flying butterflies from South America, Africa, and Asia.
Native butterflies fly frequently in the open-air area of the Fragrance Garden,
at the dragonfly pond, and among the lavender among the roses.
In the Singing Water Garden, the magnificent koi carp delight in being fed by visitors.
A small boutique offers selected gift items and picture books,
as well as a wide selection of informational materials and literature on the subject of butterflies.
The cafeteria by the castle pond and Café Vanessa invite you to linger in idyllic surroundings. Water turtles and dwarf rabbits are of interest to all nature lovers and make the Butterfly Garden an experience.
The garden is unfortunately closed in winter.moelln-tourismus.de/erleben/ausflugstipps/gehenswert-orte-rund-um-moelln/sachsenwald-garten-der-schutterlinge

The butterfly garden is definitely worth a visit. The entrance is roughly between 8-9 Eur for an adult. In the butterfly house itself, small quails run around, koys swim in the water and of course many butterflies fly around. But you should be prepared for tropical climate. To the photographers: In colder outdoor temperatures, the lens starts to fog up!

I was very impressed and found the entrance fee of € 8.50 okay
