In the meantime I drove in both directions along Hohe Strasse. I recommend the west-east direction because there is a lot more flow.

However, you have to adjust to many roots and it always goes up and down.

Nowhere really difficult, even for less experienced people. Also very nice as a leisurely bike hike.
If you want to let it rip then only at "low-traffic" times, always drive on sight and be considerate of the hiker should be a matter of course anyway!
