According to an old document from the Bronnbach Monastery, a wooden Tauber Bridge stood here as early as the 14th century. It is said to have been destroyed in a flood in 1732. For 40 years only one ford connected the two banks of the Tauber. In 1772, the bridge that still exists today was built with a length of 39 meters and four arches.
