Best Hikes to Lac de Tseuzier Dam

Tips

  • Lac de Tseuzier is a picturesque reservoir created by the construction of the Rawyl dam. The water of the lake is used for power generation and as drinking water. In addition, some of the water on the Suone du Ro is used for irrigating the agricultural area around Crans Montana.

The environment around the lake is very varied: you can explore waterfalls, streams, forests and an exciting variety of plants.

  • Lac de Tseuzier
The Lac de Tseuzier is a reservoir in the northern canton of Valais. It lies in the area of the municipalities of Avent and Icogne at an altitude of 1777 meters above sea level. The approximately 1.3km long and 800m wide reservoir is located below the Wetzsteinhorn. Lake Tseuzier is fed by various mountain streams, including La Liène, which flows out of the lake again after the Rawil dam. You can walk around the reservoir in a good hour. Right at the foot of the dam, you can have your meals in the Rawil restaurant.
GETTING TO THE LAC DE TSEUZIER
Those who don't want to hike from the Rhone Valley up to the reservoir can take a post bus from Sion to Lac de Tseuzier in the summer months. It is also possible to arrive by private car via Anzère. Follow the signs to the "Barrage de Zeuzier"

  • Nice view from the dam. And when you walk around the lake, you come to a waterfall.
