The parish church of Beinhausen is not in the village where it was originally planned, but on a hilltop in what is now the district of Neichen. The rectory, which was built in 1902 to replace the old dilapidated rectory, is in Beinhausen.

It is not known when the first church was built. The second church was built in the 15th century. The still preserved massive tower also points to this century due to its architectural style.

The written sources show that the church roof was renewed in 1719 and the church and sacristy were thoroughly renovated in 1750. In 1803 the church had to be demolished except for the tower. A simple building with a three-sided choir with a simple round portal and a wind-protected hall was built on the tower. It is astonishing that the new building was not inaugurated. This only happened in 1950 after Auxiliary Bishop Metzroth had extended the nave with a northern and southern extension. Mary was mentioned as a patron saint on various occasions in the 17th century, but after 1744 Saint Hubertus was named as the patron saint of the church and parish.

The interior furnishings include a wooden pilgrimage picture made from a single piece, depicting the Lamentation of Christ, dating from the 15th century. The 86 cm high picture was restored and repainted in 1903. It depicts Mary standing out from the middle of three mourning women. The body of Christ lies over the knee of the favorite disciple John and that of Mary Magdalene. In this depiction, the drawn-in body of Christ with the tight-fitting loincloth is striking, which has a symmetrical position when the feet are closed. The weeping face of Mary Magdalene is impressive. After the picture was stolen, it turned up about 20 years later in 1995 at an art dealer in Biberach/Riss. He reported the valuable object to the police, where it was determined that it was the stolen Virgin Mary of Hilgerath. As a thank you for the return, the annual star pilgrimage on the second Sunday in September from the 7 villages to the church was introduced as a vow.

The baptismal font without a base, which was used as a rain barrel for a long time, is in the choir. The parish's only burial site is located around the church. Some old, well-preserved gravestones are set into the church wall all around.

The beautifully situated on a ridge Hilgerath parish church was built in 1803-05. From the predecessor only testifies the preserved tower from the Middle Ages. In November 1950, the new transept on the day of St. Hubert, the patron saint, inaugurated. The most valuable work of art, the Lamentation of Christ, dates back to the middle of the 15th century.

It might also be worth mentioning for hikers that the church is closed outside of church services.
