Sand dunes and camels are probably not the first associations when thinking of the Himalayas. But north of the Indus Valley, in the so-called Nubra Valley, you can observe exactly this combination. Miles wide, and visually a bit inappropriate, the Nubra River is surrounded by dunes populated by two-humped camels. Of course you can ride these there and do a little "nomadic tour".
