In the beautifully renovated, former reception building of the station Darfeld operates the local Heimatverein a café with a garden restaurant. Even many years after decommissioning of the railway Rheine Coesfeld exudes this place still much railway atmosphere. A "must" for all railroad friends.

The cycle track Münsterland is a 39.4 km long Bahntrassenradweg on the former route from Rheine to Coesfeld (former course book route 284), a section of the railway line Duisburg-Quakenbrück. The name of the bike path was awarded in autumn 2011, replacing the former project name Schlossallee Radweg Rheine - Coesfeld.
After the operation ended in 1984 for passenger transport and finally in 1999 for freight, the former railway tracks were quickly overgrown by grass, bushes and trees.
In 2008, the neighboring towns and municipalities decided to buy the derelict railway line and turn it into a bike path. This was also supported by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The construction costs amounted to about 6.4 million euros, of which the country took over 5.2 million euros

Restored station building on the former railway line opened in 1879 Oberhausen-Rheine-Quakenbrück. Two historic 3-axle passenger cars and several meters of tracks ensure many years after the closure of the track for railway atmosphere. During your stay, you can relax in the café or the local inn's garden restaurant.
