Beautiful dirt track near Enna, known as one of the most challenging climbs of the Sicily Divide. As soon as you leave the state road, the climb begins immediately badly with peaks above all 10% and a bumpy surface. The first part ends once you reach the saddle between Monte Cannarella and Monte Bruchito, from here you can admire a fantastic view of Enna. After a short and steep descent, the road begins to rise again for the last stretch on a dirt road, again with peaks that are well over 15%.

Get ready for a challenging touring bicycle adventure on the Enna and Lake Pergusa Loop. This route takes you through the heart of the Sicilian countryside, offering diverse landscapes and scenic views of Lake Pergusa, Sicily's only natural lake. You'll cover 32.5 miles (52.3 km) and gain a significant 4151 feet (1265 metres) in elevation, making it a difficult ride that rewards you with stunning vistas and a true sense of accomplishment. Expect to spend around 3 hours and 55 minutes in the saddle.

This loop is best suited for experienced touring cyclists with appropriate bikes, as it includes unpaved segments that contribute to its difficult rating. While the immediate circuit around Lake Pergusa is paved, the full route from Enna features challenging gravel sections, especially on the climb back to the city. Be prepared for these demanding parts, which might require good fitness and sometimes even pushing your bike.

Beyond the physical challenge, the Enna and Lake Pergusa Loop offers a rich blend of natural beauty and history.
