The old church tower of Umag is visible from afar, it shapes the old town and at its feet there is a real hustle and bustle every evening. It is wonderful as a photo motif or just to look at and enjoy.

Leaning against the church tower is an old, large anchor that is also ideal as a photo motif.

The church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of San Pellegrino is a building of Catholic worship located in the Liberty square in Umag. It was built between 1730 and 1757 on the remains of the pre-existing church of S. Maria Maggiore (destroyed in 1651 during a storm) and for this reason it was dedicated to both the latter and to S. Pellegrino, patron saint of the city.

The church has a late Baroque facade. The interior, with a single nave, houses a fragment of a fifteenth-century wooden altarpiece with Saints Peter, Martino and Antonio, a seventeenth-century crucifix and a canvas by Palma il Giovane. On the vault there is a fresco attributed to Giuseppe Bernardino Bison. The precious organ from 1776 was instead built by the Venetian Francesco Dacci. Separated from the church building stands the 33 m high Venetian-style bell tower restored in 1691.
