A "deep light" for the bike path towards the back weir. The thing should actually be called "Rad weg".

The Kiel Canal is an artificial waterway, the construction of which has not only cut landscapes, forests and fields, but sometimes also villages and existing country roads. The major road and rail routes were connected by gigantic bridges, while the smaller ones are "bridged" by ferries.
A total of 14 ferries are in operation along the canal, transporting cars, bicycles and pedestrians day and night from one bank to the other, free of charge due to an imperial ordinance. For fearful passengers it should be said that they are probably the safest means of transport of all, because there have been no accidents worth mentioning in over 100 years of history! The ferry crossing is always interesting, as you can usually see one or more ships that are crossing the ferry's path.kielkanal.de/html/fahren.html
