Chalon-sur-Saône is a city rich in tourist activities: castles, churches and wine tours are worth a detour from the Eurovélo 6 track. But the city is above all famous for its link with photography. Indeed, Nicéphore Niépce was born and lived in Chalon-sur-Saône and he is known for having invented photography. An important museum is dedicated to him and the city has retained a major place in the world of photography.
