Mountain Biking Highlight
On a beautiful forest meadow are the resting places of Prince Otto Friedrich to Ysenburg and Büdingen and four of his family members. You can reach them via the Reffenstraße through the Büdinger Wald. In addition to the new road you can now and then still recognize the old trade route, which led as a mountain trail once from Mainz to Thuringia.

The "Fürstengräber" shown here are not historical tombs. They show, to my knowledge, memorial plaques, but I have no further details. The clearing is located directly on the Reffenstrasse and is loosely overgrown and flooded with light. A very nice place.
Reffenstrasse is the part of an old road that leads through the Büdingen forest. The route called "Antsania" runs along the watersheds of the mountain ranges. The entire street allegedly used to run from Mainz in the west to Eisenach and then in the east via Leipzig to Warsaw.
The part in the Büdinger Wald can be traveled and wandered from "von Hausen" to "Wittgenborn".

A park-like area in the Büdingen forest serves as a cemetery for the "Derer von Ysenburg"
