Cycling

The origins of the church are in the 11th century, after the Hussite attack the previous church was completely destroyed. Then rebuilt in Gothic style with two towers. After a large fire in 1842, it was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style from 1846 to 1849. It is visible from afar, as a prominent point.

What the Dresdner Frauenkirche is for the Oschatzer is the Aegidien church. That's how it is written. With 199 steps you can reach the top, enjoy the view and visit the historic Türmer apartment. But not in the winter. From Easter, the church is only open again. Really a pity for winter visitors like us.
