Also called "Schwedenkreuz", the site of the murder of Arne Karlsson, who cared for refugees in the village. The "Schwedenplatz" is named after him in Vienna.

Monument to a Swedish aid agency worker who was shot by a guard of the occupation troops (probably Russian?) in 1947.

The Arne Karlsson Memorial (also known as the Swedish Cross) was erected in 1961 on the spot where Arne Karlsson was murdered in 1947, more than 2 years after the end of the war, by a Russian guard who mistook him for a spy. Karlsson worked for the Swedish refugee organization "Rädda Barnen", which provided humanitarian aid in our region after the war. In memory of the man who chose humanity and charity as his profession, a simple wooden cross was erected by the population at the place of death immediately after death. In 1961, the municipality of Berg, the Red Cross and the Austro-Swedish Society donated a memorial under difficult economic conditions at the time, which was completely renovated in 2007 - on the 60th anniversary of Karlsson's death.
