You don't see something like that every day anymore, the wooden bridge is in very good shape and is regularly checked to see if everything is in order

The river bridge, which is 42 meters long and six meters wide, is now a rarity. Together with the wooden bridges in Ratzenried-Neumühle and Neuravensburg-Föhlschmitten, it is one of three covered wooden bridges from the 18th century in the Ravensburg district, but such bridges can only be found occasionally in the foothills of the Alps in Europe and are therefore distinctive cultural monuments.
The wooden bridge in Hiltensweiler, which is of national and cultural importance today, was built around 1790. The St. Gallen prince-abbot Beda Angehrn had it built to continue his efforts to improve traffic conditions, which he had started earlier in the Swiss heartland of his dominion.
