In fact, the building known as St. John's Chapel is considered one of the most beautiful Romanesque round chapels in Austria. The chapel's roots go back to the 12th century. However, the distinctive conical roof was only built around 1700.

Despite its age, St. John's Chapel still serves a purpose. It serves as the final resting place for members of the former noble family of Abensperg-Traun. This family owned the nearby Petronell Castle for several centuries and still runs the Petronell estate today.
