On the large clearing, from which you have a fantastic view, there is a parking lot with a visitor center and a small chapel. A tiny market is held here on weekends. In the past, the cross of Saint Carmen protected the hikers who passed there. At the end of the 19th century, the forest warden of the area decided to reward those who carried a stone with a bundle of wood. This resulted in enough building material to build the Cruz del Carmen chapel.
