On the large clearing, from which you have a fantastic view, there is a parking lot with a visitor center and a small chapel. A tiny market is held here on weekends. In the past, the cross of Saint Carmen protected the hikers who passed there. At the end of the 19th century, the forest warden of the area decided to reward those who carried a stone with a bundle of wood. This resulted in enough building material to build the Cruz del Carmen chapel.

It should be arrived early at holiday time. Possibility to park on the street above the parking lot. We were there around Easter. By 11 the parking lot was already full. Good starting point for hikes in the Aga Mountains.
However, Komoot is also the best companion here.

An old man is sitting at the viewpoint with various handmade toys. At first we thought he just wanted to sell something, but then we started talking to him. He really has a lot of exciting things to say about the things and the people who come to see him, and he also speaks a little German. My tip: Seek a conversation with him, he's really really nice and both you and he will come out of it with a smile 😊 Especially when the fog blocks the view, that's really well invested time - I promise! 👍🏻
