Approximately 400 crunchy elevation meters to about 6 km from Hornberg or a little less altitude to about 8 km from Schramberg.
In addition, direction Mösenmättle, or Windkapf very nice tours at about the same height possible.

The Fohrenbühl can be approached from 4 sides and thus optimally combined with a racing bike tour. As an ascent from the valley, I recommend the Kirnbach, where the entrance is at Wolfach. Both the Schramberg side and the Hornberg side are suitable as a descent, both of which lead back to Wolfach.

The Fohrenbühl is a mountain or a pass in the Black Forest. The pass road connects Hornberg in Gutachtal with Schramberg in the Schiltachtal and runs over Reichenbach (Black Forest) and Lauterbach. At the pass (786 m above sea level) [there is a small settlement. This settlement also bears the name Fohrenbühl and is largely a part of the municipality Lauterbach (Black Forest) and is referred to as Lauterbach district Fohrenbühl. The pass Fohrenbühl and the settlement Fohrenbühl (district Lauterbach) are below the Mooswaldkopfes, which is one of the highest elevations of the central Black Forest. A road running along the ridge crosses the pass road and divides the settlement into a Hornberger and a Lauterbacher part, it is part of the north-south long-distance trail Mittelweg through the Black Forest from Pforzheim to Waldshut. The settlement is today touristy (four restaurants) and agriculturally oriented. Wikipedia
