The international wind and watermill museum is located in Gifhorn. With its 16 mills from all over the world, it is really impressive and the reason why the city is nicknamed the "mill town". In addition to the mills, there are three restored half-timbered houses on the grounds of the open-air museum, which include the "bakery" and the "bread house". Here you can stop off for a rustic meal and enjoy, for example, traditionally made bread from the stone oven.
