On February 18, 1981, a small group of equestrian fans got together to found the Hooksieler Rennverein e.V. The idea of building a racing club had been anchored in the minds of the founding members for over 10 years and could now be implemented with a lot of enthusiasm and idealism. The first chairman was the Hooksiel veterinarian and passionate equestrian friend Dr. Karl-Heinz Gaede.
