Pre Madame Carle is perhaps the most beautiful valley in France. The climb ends after more than 13 kilometers at 1876 meters at a refuge. Here you are surrounded by alpine giants. It is a starting point for many walks and hikes to the Glacier Blanc, Glacier Noir or the Barre des Écrins - at 4102 meters the highest peak of the Écrins Massif. One of the most beautiful valleys in France. The Route du Pré de Madame Carle takes you to the heart of the Ecrins National Park. There is a small refuge/cafe where you can get something to eat.
From Vallouise the climb is 13 km with an average gradient of 5.4%, however in the last 4 km there are gradients of 8-9% on average.
