Hiking
Hohenstein Castle is one of the largest castle ruins in the Taunus. As the name suggests, it stands on a high stone, i.e. a rock above the Aartal. From this point on the opposite side of the valley you have a wonderful view of the castle ruins and the surrounding hills. Although there is a main road in the valley, it is pleasantly quiet here because the road is not usually busy.
