We stopped here on our tour. Time seems to pass a little slower here.

Grain and oil mill from 1397 in the swamp forest of Schwalm and Mühlenbach
This lovingly restored historical gem is located in the midst of beautiful nature. The Wasser.Blick provides an insight into the jungle-like alluvial forests of the Mühlenbach and Schwalm - not only the beaver feel at home here.
Whether for an extensive jazz breakfast or a short cake break - everyone is welcome at the Molzmühle. Even the farmers who were waiting for their grist were catered for here. The mill was still in use until 1930. It is reported that in the middle of the 19th century the grinder was in operation for 16 hours a day and the oil press for 6 hours. The wooden roller corridor, in which the seeds were crushed to produce oil, has been restored and is a valuable cultural monument.
If you have got a taste for it and want to see more of the well-preserved historical mills on the Schwalm, we recommend the mill hikes and bike tours in the town of Wegberg. The city leaflets contain tour suggestions of various lengths.
You can find detailed information about the history of mills on the Schwalm in the mill museum in the Schrofmühle just a few kilometers away. The museum opens its doors to visitors once a month. You can find dates on the Internet, among other places.

The mill got its name from one of its owners. An Arnold Molz is registered as the owner in a lease from 1627. At the beginning of the 19th century, the mill was driven by an undershot water wheel.

Nice seats right at the mill, the beer garden is not bad either, but personally I did not like it so much.

To get to the mill, you have to drive over large stones or through the Schwalm. I guess I got stuck, had cold feet 🙆‍♂️😂

At the Molzmühle there is also one of the wonderful WasserWunderWelt points with a view of the water in front of the inflow to the functioning mill wheel of the Molzmühle.

In the valley of the mills or on the Mühlenweg one of the most beautiful mills for me.

Great mill situated in a valley. Good food, happily welcomed for a short stop for "drinks only".
