Tips

  • Hermann

Wonderful nature and landscape experience in the river meadows of the southern Upper Rhine. One of the largest nature reserves in Baden-Württemberg.
"Casting" are subterranean parts of the stream that re-emerge elsewhere. Low-nutrient waters with a low fish population call the fishermen "deaf".
The nature photographer Thomas Kaiser has published on his page some of his extraordinary photos from the Rhine meadows, including Taubergießen (naturfoto-thomaskaiser.de/rheinauen.html).

Beautiful nature reserve with numerous paths through forests and along the "Giessen" - small river with ever small lakes. In the summer, take trips by barge.

Beautiful nature reserve near the border. With the opportunity to explore these "canals" during the season from the barge.
