From the home station Schierwaldenrath (with good restaurants) you can then cycle back almost entirely along field paths.
Of course, it also works the other way round ;-).
The Gillrath terminus is connected to the Rhodebach cycle path, which is also highly recommended. There is a lot to discover there.
