The castelliere rises close to the left bank of the Tagliamento. It had been erected to probably protect and support an important ford on the Tagliamento. To date, no archaeological excavations have been carried out, but the pottery collected in the course of surface investigations indicates a period of life on the site between the Late Late Bronze Age and the beginning of the Iron Age (XII-IX century BC).
