A monk from the Steimke monastery is said to have come to Wahrenholz every four weeks to hold a mass there. In a strong and snowy winter in 1528, he got lost in the thick forest and perished. From then on, a Lutheran pastor was appointed to Wahrenholz. The Reformation had arrived in Wahrenholz.
