Potsdam Hauptbahnhof is the most important station in the Brandenburg state capital Potsdam. It lies on the railway line Berlin-Magdeburg and exists since 1838. However, it carries this name only since 1999. Its predecessor was for decades the station Potsdam, starting from 1960 Potsdam city. The station is the end point of the coming from Ahrensfelde via Berlin S-Bahn S7. At the same time, it is with the attached ZOB and the tram connection central Umsteigepunkt for Potsdam and the southwestern Berlin area (see also public transport in Potsdam).
