The Big Bösenstein is with 2448 m the highest mountain of the Rottenmanner Tauern.A good starting point for the ascent is the Edelrautehütte (1725 m). About 10 minutes walk from the cottage is the parking lot, which is accessible via a toll road. The hut is managed both in summer and in winter (for opening hours see edelrautehuette.com)During the ascent of the Edelrautehütte one is always with beautiful views, e.g. rewarded on the large and small Scheibelsee and the surrounding mountains. Once at the summit, you can enjoy the lower Tauern in full splendor.A possible way back leads over the small Bösenstein along a ridge to the Great Stallion. From there you can close the round then at the Edelrautehütte.
