I would like to share a little anecdote: We came to the Forsthofalm even though we knew it was closed (there had been an unusual amount of snow for the time of year). The children wanted to get the hiking pass. But the landlady was there to look after the animals. After we had chatted briefly, she offered to look after us as well. The hut was heated, the children were wrapped in blankets, and very good Kaiserschmarrn and hot drinks were served. All in all, a very warm experience in a rustic hut that we will remember forever.
