The cross basilica built from 1300 is located directly on the Emscher cycle path. In the church, a Romanesque baptismal font from the 12th century can be admired. The outside facilities with numerous partly weathered grave slabs and the "sky fort" (old south entrance) are also worth seeing.

The Georgskirche is a cruciform basilica in the Aplerbeck district of Dortmund. It belongs to the evangelical Georgs-Kirchengemeinde Dortmund. The church is the only cruciform basilica in Dortmund and is listed as an architectural monument in the city of Dortmund's list of monuments.
