Gigantic electricity pylon, somehow beautiful, although it is so technical. Or maybe he was just a change after all the sheep ...

The sheer size when you stand in front of it is very impressive. In addition, there is the wind that whistles through the permeable base and underlines this impression of a lonely metal colossus on a wide corridor. The geometric structures are very attractive for black and white photographs.

Here you can see all 4 high-voltage pylons. The masts are on the Schleswig-Holstein side of the Elbe and on the Elbe island of Lühesand (district of Stade, Lower Saxony). The supporting masts of Elbekreuzung 1 are 189 m high and were built between 1959 and 1962. 1976-1978 Elbekreuzung 2 was added, the support masts of which had to be even higher in order to achieve the clearance height of 75 m. They are 227 m high and thus still the highest electricity pylons in Europe, for many years they were even the highest in the world.

Beautiful trail in the middle of beautiful scenery.
EXTREMELY crowded on weekends and when the weather is nice.
