Dauchstein Castle near Binau in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg is said to have been built around 1030 as a customs castle for shipping on the Neckar. According to tradition, the road toll was collected with the help of a chain stretched across the Neckar, which was only lowered (thawed) after the required duty had been paid, hence the name Dauchstein. This is how it is described on Wiki, the link to de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burg_Dauchstein
