Strictly speaking, the pavilion in the rock garden is called "O'Swaldscher Pavilion". It is part of the original park furnishings and was named after William Henry O'Swald (1832 - 1923), a Hamburg overseas merchant, senator and deputy mayor. The founding of the old city park association in 1912 is said to be based on the initiative of the successful dealer. Unfortunately, there are no more panes of glass here for a long time. The risk of vandalism is too great. But the little gem is equipped with a wonderful wooden ceiling that has survived almost a hundred years undamaged.Together with the rock garden, which is due for renovation, the pavilion brings a piece of bygone garden culture back to the park. In the same way, areas of the Stadtpark are gradually being embellished and thus brought to new life - the rose gardens, the pump room, now the pavilion... In the spirit of the Stadtpark's founding father Fritz Schumacher, the park is constantly evolving. Some places of stillness may yet come into being.stadtparkverein.de/240713-noch-161-tage-orte-der-stille-der-pavillon-im-steingarten

With the support of the Monument Preservation Foundation in 2014, the reconstruction of a destroyed crown created by Richard Kuöhl of the round pavilion designed by Fritz Schumacher in 1929 and donated by the then city park association on the Südring at the corner of Otto-Wels-Straße was made possible.
It ends at the O'Swald Pavilion south of the Walter country house.(Source: Wikipedia)
