The ossuary, housed inside the noble chapel of the Treccani counts, collects 1,274 skulls and bones of 2,619 soldiers of the Sardinian Army and the VIII Army Corps of the Imperial Royal Austrian Army who fought the bloody battle of San Martino (June 24, 1859), armed clash of the second war of independence.
