GSC Salzgitter e.V was registered with the City of Salzgitter in 1985 and entered into the association register. At the same time, the non-profit status was requested from the tax office and has existed since then. The founding members have meanwhile grown to over 400 members, of which 140 children and young people complete their training rounds on the Hüttenring. The best known member is the 1999 vice world champion in the 250cc Motocross World Championship Pit Beirer. He is now Motorsport Director at KTM.
