Mountain Biking Highlight
The Langenberg is 843 meters the highest mountain in the Sauerland buw. North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2010 there is a real summit cross on the summit. In order to achieve that, you have to overcome about 300 altitude meters from Willingen. But you do not have to stay here for a long time, because you have neither a nice view nor a hut or anything like that. Consequently, here is relatively lonely and you have the heathland often for you alone - this can also have a very special appeal.

As previously described. You are alone and do not see anything around.
But you can enjoy the wonderful peace.

Almost perfect break for MTB tours in Upland and Hochsauerland. The wooden hammock invites you to rest, the tables for food and if there were toilets, luck would be perfect.

The Langenberg is worth a trip. Willingen and the Hochheide as well as many hiking trails can then also be traveled on the MTB.

The Langenberg is the highest mountain in NRW. But he offers no restoration and no nice view. So far, I have not found a location from which the mountain would have been completely recognizable as such, such as the Olsberg. The driveways to the mountain cross are well laid out and varied. Feels like you have to overcome in other mountains in the Sauerland more altitude.

Nice place for a break. Was easy to reach even on wet roads. For a Bayern that is not really the highest mountain ;-)

From here you can drive on one of the most beautiful trails in the area. Although the Rothaarsteig is actually only accessible to pedestrians.

Some of the adjacent trails are unfortunately closed to cyclists, but can still be very nice considering the hikers.

The summit is a very nice day destination since you can rest or relax there well. Although one has unfortunately due to the natural serenity no way to look at the environment, the time still passes by in flight. It is definitely worth a tour.

Visit the highest mountain in North Rhine Westphalia. Although there is no view, but you can rest comfortably and take food.
