This chapel dates back to the "High Jurisdiction" period.
At that time, the death penalty could be imposed in a nearby courthouse. The chapel was the last opportunity for the condemned to say a prayer before the sentence was carried out on the gallows. There is also a document from days gone by. In this it was ordered that a gallows, which stood near the chapel, had to be bricked up as a massive place of execution. Only one pillar of this gallows remains today. Until three years ago, the hooks on the wall to which the prisoners were tied could still be seen in the former courthouse.
