A special animal feature of the flat meadow terrain is the locally native, tame ground squirrel (Ziesel) population; for their protection, a strict dog ban applies on the site.
As the Zicksee is currently heavily dried out, the campsite is currently primarily for quiet nature camping rather than classic bathing fun.
