Location: Marsberg, Hochsauerlandkreis, Arnsberg District, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
Up to this point, the Diemel has already covered a few kilometers. It rises in the upland village of Usseln, on the border between Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia. On its way it flows through several tiny upland villages and finally feeds the Diemelsee together with the Itter. Below the dam wall, it flows through its sparsely populated and idyllic valley to Marsberg, taking in smaller streams in the process. Take some time to linger and take a short break at their run. You might even see some trout.
