The Hanert Chapel is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest, with a wide view of valleys and heights all around.

The original Pietà (Mary with the body of the son) was artistically crafted from clay. A valuable Pietà later donated, however, was not placed in the chapel but later in the parish church because of the risk of theft or damage. Instead, the chapel received a Madonna made from "Speicherer ceramics". The current Pietà was carved by a Mürlenbach hobby artist a few years ago as a votive offering.

The Mother of God Chapel was built in 1911 by the telegraph operator J. Hubert Müller, who was born in Mürlenbach on August 6th, 1876. After the Second World War, the chapel was badly damaged by vandalism and no longer maintenance. From 1950 it was renovated in several steps with donations and a contribution from the community. The chapel received a new slate roof, a structure for a small bell and the furnishings were added. Source: kulturdb.de/einobjekt.php?id=16619
