Best Hikes to Zehrensdorf Indian Cemetery

Tips

  • The Zehrensdorf Indian Cemetery is a German military cemetery for Indian war prisoners of the First World War. It is the final resting place for 206 Indian soldiers who died in captivity and were buried in the Zehrensdorf cemetery. The tomb, under the administration of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), was inaugurated in 2005 after a major reconstruction.

  • The best 'honor' for the soldiers buried here (and the many other victims of war and tyranny) would be to avoid violent conflicts in the future and to strive for peaceful coexistence between the different peoples.
